Exempt - Behavioral

Research activities in which the ONLY involvement of human participants will be in one or more specified categories are EXEMPT from federal regulations for the protection of human subjects. Many behavioral scientists routinely conduct studies that employ methods that fall into one of these categories. Although certain research activities are exempt, the HRPO is responsible for verifying that the research meets the exemption criteria requirements.
